John Gordnier
John Gordnier began his career in 1972 with the State of California as a Deputy Attorney General and was most recently a Senior Assistant Attorney General since 1983. He is an expert in Criminal Law and Criminal Intelligence and is a frequent lecturer on all aspects of intelligence systems. He is a regular speaker at Conferences and Intelligence classes throughout the nation, including the California Attorney General’s Conference on Organized Crime and the Law Enforcement Intelligence Unit (LEIU) Conferences. He has also served as the legal advisor to the California Gang Information System (CAL GANG) and the California Department of Justice Criminal Intelligence Bureau for the past eight years. In addition, he served in the Special Prosecutions Unit of the California Attorney General’s Office, supervising teams of attorneys and investigators and prosecuting organized crime cases.
Mr. Gordnier earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wyoming and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Washington. He has been a sworn member of the California State Bar since 1970. From 1970 to 1972, Mr. Gordnier was a member of the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office.

Lt. John Aerts (retired)
A recognized expert in Criminal Justice Systems, Lt. Aerts is the former Program Manager for the Los Angeles County, California Consolidated Criminal History Reporting System under contract to the Los Angeles County Information Systems Advisory Body (ISAB).
Aerts has initiated numerous integrated criminal justice system projects including a Jail Classification System, Regional Allocation of Police Services system, acquisition of a facial recognition mug shot application, implementation of an XML Rap sheet program, interagency interface development with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to identify previously deported criminal aliens, Sheriff Imaging Record Retrieval System (SIRRAS) and other systems.
For over 15 years Lt. Aerts was responsible for initiating and promoting criminal justice enterprise initiatives with Law Enforcement and the rest of the criminal justice enterprise. He previously served as the chair of the Incident/Arrest sub committee of the OASIS LegalXML Integrated Justice Technical Committee. He has over 30 years experience as a law enforcement officer with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and invested half of his career promoting and managing integrated justice technology projects.
John is also a US Veteran having served with the US Army Green Berets.

Ajay Patel
Ajay has over 16 years of enterprise infrastructure software and system integration experience.
Most recently, as Vice President in Oracle’s Middleware division, he led the rapid growth of Oracle SOA Platform and Integration business. Prior to Oracle, he was General Manager at BEA Systems where he was responsible for the product vision, development and launch of their Enterprise Information Integration (EII) product. He is a recognized leader in Business Integration and was instrumental in driving the convergence of Application Server and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) markets. He is a frequent guest speaker and has conducted numerous executive seminars on IT Strategy & Planning, Business Process Optimization, Middleware Platforms and Service Oriented Architecture. Mr. Patel has also held leadership positions with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, AT&T GIS and Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He has been a trusted advisor to senior IT leaders and managed multi-million dollar solutions delivery at Fortune 100 companies. |
